South Yorkshire Housing Association is a housing association with a difference. As well as providing homes for around 12,500 people across the Sheffield City Region, we provide a very wide range of support and commercial services to many thousands more. This includes employment support, extra-care homes and an estate agency. You will find loads more about us on our website and on social media.
10 years ago we set up a commercial subsidiary, SYHA Enterprises, to run services that could not have been taken on by our charitable parent organization. These include an ethical sales and lettings agency, a consultancy service, a collaboration with a market research company and a joint venture company that is developing housing for outright sale.
We will be looking for candidates far beyond the usual suspects. We welcome applications from people who have lived experience, are young, and/or are part of a minority group – we see these as advantages, and believe difference and diversity make us better. On this occasion we are looking for an NED with financial and entrepreneurial skills.
You will need to have a genuine commitment to improving lives and communities in South Yorkshire and the wider City Region.
SYHAE NEDs typically spend about 4 hours per month in this role. The role attracts a paid allowance of £1,030.20 per annum.
