Today we’re sharing more about the support and opportunities offered by Burns Court and Browning Court. These supported housing schemes work with people to develop the skills and confidence to live safely and independently.
This supported accommodation is for people with long-term mental health conditions. We support people to enjoy their time with us, and to develop the skills to successfully settle in their own home.
Customers live at Burns Court or Browning Court for up to two years, and benefit from regular sessions with their keyworker, opportunities to take part in a range of groups and activities, and support after they’ve moved into their new home. Our keyworkers work with customers to achieve their goals, which can include working on budgeting and shopping, gaining confidence in using public transport, managing finances, and looking after their health and wellbeing.
Burns Court and Browning Court both provide furnished self-contained one-bedroom flats and a large communal lounge. Customers are supported to gain confidence, build connections and develop skills by taking part in the activities on offer. This includes art classes, gardening, cooking and sharing meals together, mindfulness and wellbeing sessions, trips out, and more! Here’s some recent photos from groups our customers have enjoyed.
of Browning Court customers that have moved on from the service are still living independently – we supported seven people to move into their own home.
In the last 12 months at Burns Court, we have supported three of our customers to move on from the service. Two people are living independently, and one person is living in residential care to access the appropriate support for their mental health.
