At South Yorkshire Housing Association, we believe diversity makes our communities stronger and greater. We are proud to work alongside people from a range of backgrounds and with different life experiences, and always aim to offer safe spaces and support for people seeking sanctuary. We understand that the recent riots and disorder will leave many customers and employees feeling unsafe and unwelcome. We want to clearly say that you are valued and part of our organisation.

If you experience anti-social and/or racist behaviour, please let us know by calling 0800 1380 380 or email enquiries@syha.co.uk (if it’s an emergency and you are in danger, contact the police by calling 999).

You can also report a hate crime, and find out more about other support available, on the South Yorkshire Police website: www.southyorkshire.police.uk/report-hate-crime

It is devastating to see the destructive and hateful activity that has taken place across the country, and we condemn all racist language and behaviour. South Yorkshire Housing Association will not tolerate any of these actions from our customers, and we will take further action if necessary.

We stand in solidarity with any customers, colleagues, communities and partners that are impacted by the recent disorder in South Yorkshire and beyond. We hope to work with you to ensure our region is safe, inclusive and welcoming in the months and years to come.
